Chamber hands out 12 awards at Moose Jaw Business Excellence Awards event Wednesday night
Kelly and Maureen Miller were the only business owners to walk away with two trophies Wednesday night.
As the owners of Boston Pizza Main and Thatcher, they won the customer service award and Business of the Year at the Moose Jaw Business Excellence (MJBEX) awards at the 16th annual event.
“I’m blown away. It’s just awesome,” said Kelly Miller. “I’m very surprised. I wasn’t expecting it but it’s great to be recognized for what we’ve been doing in the community for almost 20 years now.”
What makes their business succeed, he said, is that it embraces core values of being a family.
“We have staff that buy into that and create a culture of people who care about what they’re doing, having fun with what they’re doing every day and creating an environment where people want to come and enjoy a meal with us and have a great dining experience,” said Miller. “It says a lot about the dream that we created. It takes a team effort to create the business that can provide great customer service and look after our guests.”
Scott Evans walked away Wednesday night with the coveted Moose Jaw Business Excellence Leader of the Year award.
“To be the Business Leader of the Year, it’s only achievable if you have good people behind you,” he said. “We’ve built a very good team at Moose Jaw Ford over the years … If you want something, you’ve got to go after it.”
