Home destroyed in blaze

Sarah Ladik/Times-Herald Firefighters were able to save some of the occupants’ possessions from the garage before the house was totally engulfed.

A home at corner of River Street West and 24th Avenue West was reduced to rubble after a fire last night.

Police and the Moose Jaw Fire Department responded to the call at about 1 a.m. on Saturday, but were unable to save the house on an acreage west of the city.

While police and the fire department did not immediately return calls for comment, there is no indication that anyone was hurt in the incident. Damage is estimated to be $500,000.

A sign on the property points to it also being the home to DMC’s Black Guardian Cane Corsos dog breeder.
