Howden off to solid start in American Hockey League

Moose Jaw Warriors captain Brett Howden has kicked off his professional hockey career in style.
Howden, 18, joined the Tampa Bay Lighting affiliated Syracuse Crunch in the American Hockey League for the final five games of the regular season and playoffs after the Warriors were eliminated form the WHL post-season.
He scored his first professional goal on Apr. 8 against the Albany Devils and has had at least a point in every game since — including goals in the final two games of the regular season against the Binghamton Senators and Utica Comets. He finished the regular season with three goals and an assist in the five games.
Syracuse finished first in their division and face the St. John’s Ice Caps in the Calder Cup playoffs beginning Friday.
