A stolen firearm and ammunition was found inside a residence on the zero block of Maple Street East Saturday.

Baily Anderson, 20, was arrested for outstanding warrants and was detained in custody until court on Monday morning.

The weapon, which was reported stolen from a Moose Jaw home on Nov. 20, 2016, was found during an investigation of the home, said Sgt. Rick Johns.

Police were notified to the home after someone called 9-1-1 from the address but hung up. Johns said the search was mostly due to the strange nature of the phone call.

Anderson is being charged with careless storage of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a weapon obtained by the commission of an offence and three counts of breaching probation.

He will appear for a bail hearing in Moose Jaw, on the morning of March 23.
